Main Features

Detection

  • The NetQuery performs a query of selected networked computers, domains, and entire networks for detecting installed OS or product version and Service Pack level. For every queried computer all the installed and missing hotfixes are clearly identified. It is done in a way that clearly shows the computer status against all available hotfixes issued by Microsoft® for the corresponding combination of OS/Product version and its Service Pack level.

  • The Hotfix Profiler capability allows to test selected networked machines, domains and entire networks against pre-defined and user-defined groups of Hotfixes (Hotfix Profiles). For example: security, stability and Y2K profiles.

  • The NetGroup feature allows system administrator to create custom groups of networked computers, improving manageability of the deployment process. Computer's IP address can be used instead of computer name, to identify those computers that are not reachable via Microsoft® WINS services.

  • The results of the NetQuery can be provided in a report form in embedded IE Web Browser and can be viewed, and printed. The by-product of the report generation is the file that stores the report information in .CSV format. The results can also be exported to .CSV file by explicit user's operation.

Inventory and Research

  • Conducting a research on all available updates through on-line access to Microsoft Knowledge Base articles and Security Bulletins.

  • LiveUpdate  instantly updates local machine with the latest information on availability of new Service Packs and Hotfixes. LiveUpdate can be scheduled to run periodically in unattended mode, synchronizing your local database with the master database that is constantly updated on Gravity Storm Software's web site, based on Microsoft® alerts and published information. LiveUpdate clearly identifies the new updates available from Microsoft® .

  • View hotfix description and details within embedded IE Web Browser by providing direct access to Microsoft® Knowledge Base articles and Security Bulletins.

Download

  • Downloading required Service Packs and Hotfixes either to the local host or to the designated network share. Allows simultaneous download of multiple hotfixes.

Installation

  • Installation of Service Packs and Hotfixes on target machines is unattended. It can be performed on multiple selected network computers, domains, and entire networks simultaneously.

  • Installation of Service Pack  can be scheduled. Performing machine reboot and previous Service Pack back-up are optional. The user is receiving constant feedback throughout the entire duration of the Service Pack installation process, including reboot phase of a target machines, when required.

  • Installation of a single or multiple hotfixes can be scheduled.

  • Allows deployment of High Encryption Pack on machines running Windows 2000 SP1.

  • Hotfix installation does not automatically reboots the target machines, and thus, does not disrupt the tasks running on the target machines. The reboot of the target machines can be performed separately from the right-click popup menu on the network tree.

  • No agents installed on remote computers.

  • Provides continuous user feedback throughout Service Pack installation process, including the period of the target machine reboot.
